Attendance Percentage Calculator

How to calculate attendance percentage

Most colleges and schools need a minimum attendance — commonly 75% — to let you sit the exams. The tool above tells you your current percentage and, crucially, either how many classes you can still miss or how many you must attend in a row to reach the requirement. It updates as you type.

The formula

Attendance % = (classes attended / total classes) × 100

Example: 60 attended out of 80 held = 60/80 × 100 = 75%.

How many classes can I bunk?

If you are above the requirement, there is a safe number of classes you can still miss. The tool works it out for you, but the logic is: you can skip classes as long as your attended count stays at or above the target fraction of the new total. If you are below, it tells you how many upcoming classes you must attend consecutively to climb back to the line.

The 75% rule

Many universities (including a lot of engineering and arts colleges, and schemes like condonation) treat 75% as the cut-off to be eligible for end-semester exams, with limited "condonation" for medical or genuine reasons between roughly 65% and 75%. The exact rule and any condonation band vary by institution, so confirm your college's policy — but 75% is the number to plan around.
